The Lonestar and Cornhusker States Visits the Beavers

Our morning was filled with fun and laughter with Mike, Cherie, Chuck, and Janet. The family joined together in Seattle and were traveling south in search of the best seafood meal the West Coast has to offer. While taking a break from the investigation, they found time for some Rogue River Rafting. Thanks for taking a ride on the wild side!

San Diego and London Rafting and Paddling

Ian and Alan in America on part business and part adventure met Carol and Bill in the late summer time heat of the Rogue Valley. They weather was stunningly beautiful as temperatures soared to 97 degrees, but the Rogue is forgiving and offers pools of cool water to dip into, raging rapids to invigorate, and endless water fighting opportunities for a full day whitewater experience.

Everyone tested his or her skills in the inflatable kayaks and also tried the ride in the Maravia 16 foot, self bailing raft. Carol and Bill took the rapids like experts and seemed to have an innate ability to get the biggest waves! Everyone played hard with the super soakers, even when the target was themselves! What a great show and a fantastic day with wonderful people. Thanks, guys!

I'll Meet You Half Way!

Due to their jobs at the moment, Brian lives in Portland and Laura lives in Southern Oregon. They meet each other as often as possible and today it was on the Rogue River. After a delicious breakfast at the Rogue Forest Bed and Breakfast, and the wonderful hospitality of Beverly and Marshall, Brian and Laura were ready for some river time adventure. Almeda Rapids got everyone wet and it came as a welcome surprise in the September Sun. We enjoyed meeting you and spending the day with you. Come back anytime and we'll meet you half way!

Oregon Family Camp

The Prices joined us for a two day Family Camp in the early days of September. Cousins gathered together for a peaceful journey and a wild ride! How is that possible? That's Life on the Rogue!!

Dena, Aaron, Roy and June all paddled in the inflatable kayaks. There was one tandem kayak and two singles. They all tried their hand at duo digging in the double kayak. The mix and match teams were very impressive as both individual paddlers and team paddlers.

After twelve miles of river time, everyone was ready to enjoy the easy time in camp. Dinner was cooked over the campfire and included fresh salmon, garlic bread, fresh from the garden vegetables, and a Dutch Oven Dessert of peach cobbler. After the stars were out, we stoked up the fire and Dena had her first taste of S'mores.

The second day of paddling started after a hearty breakfast of Rocky Riffle scramble eggs, bacon, sausage and Dutch Oven biscuits served with homemade blackberry jam and raspberry jam. The paddling crew was ready to hit the waves and enjoy the gorgeous Southern Oregon weather.

Our pro paddlers tested the whitewater floating position in Galice Rapid and Argo and came out victorious! They even managed to save their hats! Traveling the Rogue River with the Price Family enriched our summer. Thanks for a memorable trip!

The River Adventurer

Lynda joined us for a Half Day Trip this morning. She has been traveling the world and ended up right here in Southern Oregon. We enjoyed great conversation and insight from a world traveler. Lynda enjoyed the views along the river and next time she plans to try the inflatable kayaks through the whitewater! Thanks, Lynda, we hope to see you back on the Rogue again soon!

Just Around the River Bend!

Poland visits the Rogue! It was Simon and Justyna's first time whitewater rafting. They loved it and the time shared with each other and with nature. It turned out to be an educational trip down the river for both the guide and the guests as we talked about differences between the two countries. Simon noted how friendly we are as we smile a lot. Of course, the people of Poland are also friendly, but there are different times for smiling!

Lunch today was enjoyed floating style! Yes, that's right…we picnicked on fresh vegetables from the Headquarters Gardens, yummy chicken wraps, freshly baked brownies and more. We ate our lunch right on the Blue Rocket Boat as we floated through the flat waters above Galice Chute. We are so lucky to meet people from all over the world and as time so often shows, there is a bit of each other in all of us! Thank you, Simon and Justyna for an enjoyable and memorable trip!

Suddenly it was Cool!

Labor Day Week End started out with a cooling front that left most of the Rogue River Corridor in a cool breeze. For Mark and Stacy of Seattle, it didn't seem to matter as the inflatable kayak paddling kept them warm. Mark gifted Stacy with a birthday present of a rafting trip which Stacy said was "the best gift ever!".

Ray, Jennifer, Kara and Ray had been traveling north on their end of the summer adventure. Ray was outstanding in the inflatable kayak and the kids joined him the the calmer water!
