Rogue Rafting in Late Spring

Rogue River Rafting in late spring is spectacular! The water levels are higher, the flow is faster and yet time seems to stand still. Eagles and osprey are feeding fledglings, deer are coaxing the fawns from the willows, and the otter are nursing and fishing for their pups. With all of the spring flowers still in bloom, there is magic in the air.

Water Beds, Rogue River Style!

Rafting with kids is a great family time to share together. One of our specialties is taking young tykes and their parents down the river. Everyone has a ball! Then they take a nap on the greatest water bed around! Half Day Rogue River Raft Trips are perfect for very young children to experience milder rapids and some easy stretches of water. Be warned: once the little ones get a taste of the river, you will have to return year after year for the river time nap!

The flood waters of 1964 made a big impact along the Rogue River. This old pump was washed out of the peach orchard it helped water, and it hasn't moved since!

60 Degrees in January!

It was beautiful today in the Rogue Valley! The sunrise was spectacular with the bright orange and pink streaking across the sky. It seemed like it could have been an early spring day with the temperatures and sunshine all day. This evening was another light show in the sky at sunset with more of the same pink and orange painting the western horizon. Snow levels will drop again tonight, but for now the warmth of the sunlight was very welcome!

Winter Campfire Soup

Nothing warms the insides quite like a hot fire and a cup of soup on a cold winter day. Start with the fire and get the coals hot, hot, hot!

Add the soup or stew pot! The Lodge makes great, rugged cast iron Dutch Ovens and soup pots.

Fill is with freshly chopped flavors like garlic, onion, and carrots, then pick your favorite meat and season it with a little salt and some of Trader Joe's 21 Salute Spice. Add a few potatoes that have been pierced with a fork, pour in some water to bring all of the flavors together, and set the pot to simmer over the campfire.

Mmmm, try this for dinner tonight!
