Anniversary Rafting and Returning to the Rogue

Tiffanie and Aaron celebrated three years of marriage bliss with a Full Day Raft Trip. They enjoyed campfire cookouts, sites and sounds of the river and some great whitewater rides! They were joined by Linda and Bruce midway through the trip for the second half of the day. After a lunch on the riverbank with wild chamomile and mint growing at our feet, we set out for the afternoon whitewater! We had amazing rides through Almeda, Argo and Wooldridge Rapids. We started out as strangers and departed as friends. Same time next year?! Thanks for a great day!

Synchronized Drifting

What a fabulous paddling and rafting crew today! The Richmond and Parun Families were great traveling partners. Kevin had a flair with the super soakers even though he was a short range specialist! Tammy and Tom were the perfect match for the rocket boat and had some fantastic rides with guide Tim at the helm.

The Big Orange Raft was transformed into a paddle raft today. David, Jonie, Russel, Anna, Emily and Colin were the perfect paddling team. When they weren't paddling through the rapids their synchronized drifting form couldn't be beat!

Temperatures rose to 95 degrees in the Rogue Valley today, but there is "nothing half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats."

Thanks to all of you for a very memorable trip.

PS Kevin, you need to come back soon. We are working on new water war strategies!

Newhall Family and Friends on the Rogue River

What a wonderful adventure to have family and friends gather together from as far away as Louisiana and as near as Nevada to paddle and play on the Rogue River. We enjoyed the expert to novice paddling skills in the inflatable kayaks and the willing helpers in the oar framed raft. There are definitely some budding guides!
What a fantastic trip with wonderful people. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Bachelorette Party on the Rogue

O'Brien's very own Bride Guide, Karyn, took to the water to celebrate her wedding day. The All Girls Rafting trip took to the water while the bride wore pin curls in her hair! The fast water and big waves were popping in Almeda and Grandma O'B bobbled and bopped on the seat! The wedding party enjoyed a lite brunch snack on the beach overlooking Argo rapid and a few traveling rafters even offered to join the fun! Ever see a rafting party paint their toe nails red? Leave it to Jolene to think of this one! She travels everywhere she goes in Girl Power Style.

Karyn was in Rare form in her 1940's party girl look and showing the girls an unforgettable time on the river.
All of the girls rafting and squealing and letting out the pre wedding jitter bug! As for party favors and games? Well, life doesn't get any better than living the dream on the Rogue River.

First Visit to Oregon

Heading West from Illinois on an adventure to see Oregon for the first time were brother and sister team, Jennifer and Ron. Staying in Grants Pass for the home base, they traveled through the timeless canyons of Hellgate, past historic fishing lodges and viewed remnants of gold mining. There was beauty all around and the Rogue River was beckoning a few more pioneers to settle in west! What a perfect day to go rafting!

Here Comes the Bride Guide!

River Guide Karyn kicked off her rafting season with a half day trip, along with two sisters, Dorothy and Virginia. The two stayed at the Rogue Forest Bed and Breakfast in the town of Galice that over looks the waters of the Rogue River. Dorothy and Virginia raved about Bev's delicious breakfast, the great Shakespearean plays in Ashland, and the hopes of settling down in Southern Oregon. Even though Virginia is from central Oregon and Dorothy lives in Arizona, the two found a perfect meeting point in Oregon's Rogue Valley and took on a whitewater adventure. Thanks for the great trip!

A couple of days later, Dan, Cindy, William, and Jackie met up with each other and joined the Bride Guide for a full day raft trip. Grants Pass's Rogue River was one of the stops along their road trip and Oregon Vacation. It was an exciting one with big, fast waves- what an awesome ride through Argo!! The day was sweetened by homemade brownies and garden ripe strawberries tucked into the fresh yummy lunch. Thank you for joining us, it was a wonderful day!

Thunder in the Canyon

Miss June has come to the Rogue Valley full of thundering sighs and rain. This June weather is fantastic as it warms up to a sultry high of 90 degrees and then the thunder begins to erupt across the canyons and echo from mountain range to mountain range. All of the precipitation is making a very healthy vegetation cover and keeping the water flows at a high average.

Wishing you joy in the morning and peace in the evening, and a reason to celebrate in every of weather you encounter! We have no bad weather on the Rogue River, just occasional poor choices of clothing!

June Water Levels

It is the first of June and the water flow on the Rogue River is healthy. It is running about 3,000 cfs (cubic feet per second) which makes the late spring white water full of fun and excitement. This also makes for excellent quality of life for the fish, animals and plants of the river corridor.
Hey, quality of life is what it is all about!
