60 Degrees in January!

It was beautiful today in the Rogue Valley! The sunrise was spectacular with the bright orange and pink streaking across the sky. It seemed like it could have been an early spring day with the temperatures and sunshine all day. This evening was another light show in the sky at sunset with more of the same pink and orange painting the western horizon. Snow levels will drop again tonight, but for now the warmth of the sunlight was very welcome!

Winter Campfire Soup
Nothing warms the insides quite like a hot fire and a cup of soup on a cold winter day. Start with the fire and get the coals hot, hot, hot!

Add the soup or stew pot! The Lodge makes great, rugged cast iron Dutch Ovens and soup pots.

Fill is with freshly chopped flavors like garlic, onion, and carrots, then pick your favorite meat and season it with a little salt and some of Trader Joe's 21 Salute Spice. Add a few potatoes that have been pierced with a fork, pour in some water to bring all of the flavors together, and set the pot to simmer over the campfire.

Mmmm, try this for dinner tonight!
