Rogue River Rafting Half Day Trip

What a amazing sight! This gorgeous bird soared above our heads and graced us with her beauty from wing tip to wing tip. This is an osprey and there is a healthy population of this fish-diving hawk on the Rogue River. We see them dive straight into the water at speeds up to 30 miles per hour to grab a fish that can weigh as much as 2 times the body weight of the osprey!

There is a lot of fishing going on as the adult birds are preparing the fledglings for flight. It won't be long before the young ones leave the nest. In the meantime, we will take advantage of the airshow!

Family Rafting on the Rogue River

What a special day to have all of the river babies and river mamas and papas out on the water. We ran a fun, easy section of the Rogue for the very youngest rafters to enjoy the ride on the water. What a beautiful day!

Here is River Mama, Jolene and Anna, age 3!

Yoga Retreat on the Rogue

We had a specialty trip with a group of yoga enthusiasts who made their way to Southern Oregon for a Yoga Retreat on the Rogue River. The All Women's Retreat was filled with a delicious variety of fresh whole foods,

a beautiful balance of old and new friendships, and a lot of laughter!

The ladies had time for yoga, camping, paddling, rafting, relaxing, and a little more yoga to wrap it all up.

There was even some stunt yoga on the raft on the river by the very talented yoga instructor, Kelly!

It was a great trip and we will have many more Yoga Retreats on the Rogue!

Beauty All Around

There are so many dramatic vistas, deep canyons, old growth forests, and rumbling whitewater to enjoy on the Rogue River. There are also the tiny little treasures that bring along magical moments everyday.

Here is a pair of Western Tiger Swallowtail butterflies on a blackberry bush. The female will lay up to one hundred eggs and in just a few short days, the little caterpillars will emerge from the egg. Our rafters are delighted by the friendly little butterflies as they flit and flutter from one sun hat to another! Be sure to take the time to take in all of the beauty around you.

Big Waves and Lunch with a Bear!

What a wonderful day on the river. We had lunch with a black bear. Everyone was very polite: the bear stayed on her side of the river eating greens and we stayed on our side of the river eating sweet fruit. We gave one another an occasional nod and parted ways when we were full!

Then off to bigger water and a great ride from the paddling team. Blue skies and temperatures in the 80's make Rafting in Oregon a dream come true destination!
